This book contains nine baby quilts. Each is from a different designer.

They start right off, after a table of contents, with the name of the quilt and a paragraph about it. Then comes who designed, made and quilted it. A color photo and the size of the finished item/block is next.

Material and cutting lists are clear and the written instructions include graphics so you can visual see if you are on the right path. There is an exploded view of the finish item which really helps, in my opinion. The quilting is left up to your own ideas.

Templates, if needed, are included at full size. The quilts are made from squares, strips, applique and rectangles. The only curves in any of the quilts are in the applique pieces. If you are like me and that is not your favorite piece to quilt, you will not have to worry about that.

Now comes the hardest part, which one to start with! Grab a copy and have a great time sewing for the littlest one in your life.

Imagine a baby is coming: the baby of a friend or a colleague at work. Maybe it's the baby of a classmate so very happy that you met again thanks to social networks and who wish to make a small quilt with great fondness.
A couple of items to consider: do not have much time and weekends for sewing fly by, coming closer arrival date are either two or three friends who await the safe arrival. What to do?

This book, titled Baby Welcome (Welcome Baby) a compilation of nine quilts designer is the answer.

Rather than the size that involves a baby quilt, these nine projects are designed (forgive the pun) so that they can run each on a weekend.

In each of the nine quilts highlight a particular element, a simple design to facilitate the work of a novice in the art of quilt, in another, easy to achieve, or the one that I particularly like is intended to move from the cradle to the floor as blankie to play from a year old.

Need a quick but lovely gift for a baby shower? In this book there is a quilt just for the occasion.
But the speed and simplicity of projects does not mean it has stopped considering an exquisite design. Every one is very attractive.

Two projects in particular: Penny Lane consisting of armed cadres "Four Patch" then cut, rearrange and re-sewing, and "Ice Cream Swirl" where a seam ends partially to integrate the surrounding frame. A small challenge when performing provide great satisfaction.

These are small quilts that will appeal greatly and who has made a gift will keep the secret that with simple tips and tricks beautiful designs that will be treasured for years to come.
