Make beautiful scrap quilts that are as easy as paint by numbers! Best-selling author and Instagram sensation Susan Ache is back to share her secrets for making astonishing scrap quilts. Susan used coordinated Moda Color Cuts bundles for a scrappy yet planned look. You can do the same, or substitute fabrics from your stash.
Susan's approach to fabric selection makes it a snap to re-create her coveted, spectacularly scrappy look. Just grab one or two (or more!) Color Cuts bundles to begin. Each bundle contains 12 different prints in a similar colorway. So if you prefer to use your stash, simply use 12 greens or 12 blues or 12 grays that you've got on hand. Either way, you're headed in the right direction to create your own beautifully planned scrap quilts.

Susan Ache
Knowing only that she wanted to feature embroidery and Nine Patch blocks, Susan Ache taught herself to make her first quilt. Quiltmaking opened up a new world to this mom of five now-grown children. She turned many hours of reading about quiltmaking into a lifelong passion for creating beautiful quilts.
Susan finds color inspiration in her native Florida surroundings. She's always searching for new and fun ways to show off as many colors as she can in a quilt. Most of her quilts are a creative impulse inspired by a trip to the garden center, a photograph in a magazine, or a few paint-color samples. She never sees just the quilt--she sees the room where the quilt belongs.
Working in a quilt store for years helped cultivate Susan's love of color and fabric. Find Susan on Pinterest and Instagram as @yrdgrl60.
