Pincushion Appeal - Patterns for Pincushions to Make You Smile.

Love, love this book. The pincushions are fun (they do make you smile), the directions are excellent (easy to follow) and the supplies list is not overwhelming. I enjoyed the brief history on pin cushions at the beginning - great way to start the book. Everything is covered that one needs to know to make any of the pincushions, aided by concise and easy to follow diagrams or drawings.

The supplies used have been carefully chosen for quality and design. There are many clever little touches which enhance the various pincushions. Just Another Button Company pins are charming and certainly great paired with the pincushions. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to make a darling pincushion.

I am a admirer and collector of needlework tools, in particular, of pincushions. It is pleasing to be able to add a pincushion, made by me to my collection.

I am in awe of the creative talents of these two women. May there please be a Pincushion Appeal Book 2. It is a well written and designed book.
This is a fabulous book! Wonderful projects, clear/detailed instructions, material lists, and templates...and gorgeous color photographs. These whimsical pincushion designs are good for beginners as well as more advanced crafters/quilters....and the supplies are easily obtainable. I am extremely happy with this book and plan to make most of the projects!
What fun I had creating my mushroom pincushion. I was such a relaxing way to spend a few hours. The results were so cute. I thought I would make it as a gift... but nope... I'm keeping it. It makes me smile!!

Great instructions combined with wonderful photos and creative projects make this a perfect book. So many of my creative friends will be getting the book as gifts.

Congratulations to Rachel and Cecile on their first book endeavor. I know it will be one of many.
This book is perfect in every way! Great designs, beautiful pictures, accurate patterns and easy to understand directions! You can tell that Cecile and Rachel took their time to make sure their customers will be happy with their product. Great job!
When I decide to buy a book, there are three things that I really look for: 1) concise and detailed instructions; 2) clear photos of the projects; and 3) good value for the cost of the book. This book meets all three of my "purchasing criteria".

There are eight projects, all with a whimsical appeal. There are pincushions to celebrate romance and weddings, Christmas and snowmen, and creatures - a bird, whale, and mushroom. But my personal favorite is the cactus garden.

Each of these projects has a concise materials list, with a resource guide in the back of the book for hard-to-find items. For each pincushion, the instructions are broken down into sections, with clear diagrams and photos to guide you through each step of making these. There are properly sized templates for each project piece, eliminating the need to enlarge the patterns on a copy machine.

Of equal importance to the overview of this book is the quality of materials used to make these pieces. The Weeks Dye Works wool is wonderful! It's a bit pricey, but you always get what you pay for. Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed, pre-felted wool is far superior to other felted wools available. And the hand-made buttons from Just Another Button Company are what really make these pincushions unique.

Thanks, Cecile & Rachel, for this great book!
Anything with JABCO buttons I LOVE!! Not to mention I love pin cushions. In this book the Splash is a must have and the Love pillow is way cute. Thank you so much for this very creative book!
i have known both of these women for a number of years. their first book is incredible. easy to read, inspires you to try things, gives you permission to craft "outside the box" and provides great ideas for other projects as well as inspired directions to complete the projects listed in the book. would purchase it again and again and again and can hardly wait for their next book - and that's a HUGE hint.

Cecile McPeak

Cecile McPeak learned to sew, craft, and "measure twice, cut once" from her creative parents, and she's proud to note that all three of her grown children are continuing the crafty family tradition. Part of the pleasure of her brand of creating is arranging a collection of inspiring materials--everything from old wooden spools and buttons to found objects, shells, stones, and sea glass. Someday these things might become part of a project, but in the meantime, they inspire creative thought.
Cecile feels fortunate to be part of the needle-arts industry as Founder and Creative Director of Just Another Button Company, a manufacturer of handmade polymer-clay buttons and pins. The buttons first appeared as ladybugs and bees on Cecile's silk-ribbon embroidery, and then gained popularity as whimsical embellishments by being featured in cross-stitching and quilting books from popular designers. Now Cecile leads the JABC team in creating new buttons plus cross-sitch designs, quilt patterns, and dozens of pincushion kits and patterns.
