Carrie's pincushions and pinnies are so fun! I made two already, in one seating, and can't wait to make more. The instructions are precise and detailed, and you get all the info you need to complete them all.

The pincushions in the book are unique and make perfect gifts for your quilty friends. They can also add a touch of whimsy to your home decor if you casually place them near your craft chair, on the coffee table atop your favorite books, or on the nightstand to remind you every morning of the one thing you need to find time for every day - quilting!
There is an error on page 46 of the “Addition” pattern. In cutting you are instructed to cut 1” squares and 1” x2” rectangles. The math doesn’t work for the T’s. It should be 1”x3” rectangles. I need to start over. Other than that so far, I love all of Carrie’s work- she is my idol! HA! If not for the error, I would have given it five stars.

Hi Pam, in that particular pattern, the 1" x 2" rectangles finish at 1/2" x 1 1/2". The 1" squares finish at 1/2", which is exactly 1/3 of the rectangle measurements, which is what you need to make the "plus" motif. Oh this book is a visual feast. I'm a long time fan of Carrie, constantly inspired by her creativity. This book chronicles a moment in time when inspired by Amanda Jean Nyberg (aka Crazy Mom Quilts) she began a quest to make pincushion a day. Of course this is an instructional book, but also pages of inspiration. As with all That Patchwork Place books the photography by Brent Kane is a visual feast and the instructions are easy to follow with great illustrations.

I received an e-copy of this book from Martingale but my review and delight with it is my honest opinion.
I love the idea of making patchwork pin cushions! So much fun, and uses up tiny scraps, too!

A rose by any other name is still a rose. So fans of Carrie Nelson may not know her by her given name, but they surely know her by her pattern-designer name, Miss Rosie. Carrie is Moda Fabrics' social-media guru (perhaps not her official title, but that's what she's all about), but she still slips into her Miss Rosie mode from time to time to design yet another clever scrappy pattern. No matter what you call her, you'll call her patchwork patterns brilliant!
