Thea Nerud
Thea Nerud has loved sewing ever since she can remember. Her grandma taught her to embroider when she was four or five years old, "mainly to keep me out of mischief," Thea says.
Grandchildren, gardening, pets, and wildlife are Thea's greatest joys. Sewing machines and computers are her favorite toys. Her favorite respite and creative recharge is the Empty Spools Seminar at Asilomar Conference Grounds in Monterey, California, with her sousin from California as a roommate.
Thea retired from nursing in 2002. She now has time to use her new quilt room and to teach quilt-label classes. She lives in Spokane, Washington, where she hand feeds the chickadees and chipmunks, and where the bluebirds come when she whistles.
