Are you looking for a red, white and blue quilted item to create? If so, this book has 11 of them for you to make.

While the book calls every project a quilt, I see table toppers, banners, bed quilts, wall hangings and coasters. There are photos of each item in the written instructions. The size of the finished item and the size of the blocks is given. The materials and cutting lists are simple to follow and tips are set in a box bordered in blue and red.

Graphics are scattered throughout the patterns and if a template is needed, it is included at full size so you don’t have to run out to the copier store. Final quilting designs are left up to your creativity.

Three paragraphs at the end of the book tell about the author just after the six pages of basic quilting information.
Kathy Flowers book, Oh Glory!, not only contains a heartfelt testament to her father who served in WWII, but filled with 11 darling patriotic-themed projects you can do in a day or a weekend. The cover project is a gorgeous 3D pillow; lovely in design and oh-so-pretty! In addition to the red-white-blue theme throughout, I can visualize making this pillow using a myriad of prints from your stash. Patterns for sweet coasters, a darling Song of Victory quilt, table toppers, and other wonderful projects will provide you with hours of fun making thoughtful patriotic gifts and accents for your own home.
I love this book! New and different quilting designs make choosing my first project from this book a real challenge! I love the author's story for inspiration of this book! Many thanks to Kathy Flowers for sharing her family history. Gotta go sew now!
Oh Glory! has 11 projects - large and small - to decorate your house with that Americana touch many of us crave in the summer. Beyond presenting beautiful patterns, this book is a celebration of the bravery, firmness of purpose, and resilience of all who serve in our military.

"Eldorado", on page 43, is the pattern I chose for my first project. The instructions for foundation piecing had diagrams showing the exact placement of each patch which simplified the process. Kathy Flower's quilting was denser than mine, and she used hers as a table topper while I made mine a wall hanging and more scrappy.

There is also another wall hanging I have my eyes on! Shaped as the ribbon that holds medals and featuring that same motif on the design, it conjures up ceremonies in which soldiers are rewarded for their bravery. What a clever design all around.

Loving this book!

A frequent contributor to McCall's Quilting and other magazines, Kathy Flowers is a longtime quilter and pattern designer. She began quilting in 1976, making doll quilts for her daughter, and started designing quilts in 2008.
