Review form Quilts DK, May 2013
The book is for busy quilters. The author has used large blocks so that you can sew an entire quilt with a super great result! This book gives you 16 modern, simple and sophisticated quilts in refreshing colors with fancy prints. The quilts are only made of squares, rectangles and triangles. See for example Seahorse-quilt where the author has conjured up some super cute seahorses only using triangles. Irish Chain has a new modern look by being combined to a simple block, or a nice 9-patch baby quilt with a twist. There are so many options ...There are used many different materials and colors in each quilt, but the colors are joined by a solid or almost solid material which gives the finished quilt a modern and simple touch.
Review from Midwest Book Review, 6/29/13
16 QUICK AND EASY QUILT PATTERNS provides 16 designs featuring large and easy blocks made oversized for quick results, and offers keys to combining prints, solids, and matching colors for best results. The idea is to put together quick quilts that are easy to construct: this is achieved through the larger-sized blocks and keys to matching patterns and colors, making this very accessible for quilting novices.
Review from Popular Patchwork, March 2014
There are 16 borderless quilt designs included in this collection, all of which feature large simple blocks. This is a good way to create a quilt top quickly, using fairly large squares, rectangles and half-square triangles to produce a small number of big blocks, rather than losing interest when you know there are still 300 4-inch blocks to go! Victoria Eapen sounds like a very busy woman - a mother, dentist, businesswoman, blogger and sewer. She designed these quilts for other mums (and dads) with busy working lives but who also enjoy quilt-making even though they don't have the time for lots of sewing. The designs are fairly traditional in terms of block choice, but the super scale and Victoria's colour choices and fabric schemes work very well as modern pieces. The fact that these quilts can be put together quickly also recommends them as useful gifts or charity quilts.
