Adrienne Smitke grew up surrounded by crafts in a house full of handmade quilts and clothes. Adrienne's mother taught her and her younger sister to sew at an early age, even once assigning them sewing "homework" over summer vacation. She made a rad pair of black-and-neon-green shorts. (It was the '80s, after all.) Drawing on her creative childhood, Adrienne studied illustration and graphic design in college, during which she finally began experimenting with sewing again on her own.
