A knitting project is not the first type of yarn project I would choose but I do knit. These patterns are easy to read and follow and if I can say that, they are. The cover of the book states 20 hats but the table of contents has 23 listed.

Page 62 has a chart on the different yarn and needles sizes and a metric conversion chart. Page 63 has a glossary of knitting terms/abbreviations so if you don’t remember or are just starting out, this page will be one you will refer to for help. On page 64, you will find bios of the 10 designers. It is nice to know their backgrounds and a bit about them.

Some of the patterns have directions using a chart. Those I would have trouble understanding but anyone who knits more than I do will understand how to use the charts. There are color photos of the finished items and a paragraph about each under the respective photo.

If you like to knit or want to start out with a small project, this book will be a good one to have.
I love knitting hats and this
book has filled my imagination
with some amazing beanies to make.

There are five main sections of hat:
Babies & Kids
Sock Yarn
Worsted/Aran Yarn

The projects are varied and cover
everyone from babies, kids, women & men.
They are also for all different types of level
on knitter.
Even a beginner can make some of the hats
in the book.

The book even gives you links
to help on the GMC website
which can help you to learn the different stitches.

The babies and kids hats are really fun
and interesting.
I love the whale hat, it just makes you smile.
Not only can you make it for newborn, baby & toddler,
you can also make it for children and adults.

The designs are really interesting, fun and
have so many different looks.
I love the fact that you can choose
a practical hat or a fun hat to make.

This book really has an amazing array of hats.

All the patterns are in written format
and some do include some charts.

The varying levels that the hats are in
really does mean anyone can make
a hat from this book.

The hats also vary from slouchy to fitting beanies.
They vary in colour, size and design.

I would highly recommend this book!

I received this book to review.
However all opinions expressed are my own.
No monies were exchanged.
Where do I begin? There are 20, yes 20 patterns in this book for any skill level and any size, from baby to child to adults. These knitted beanies are so stylish that people will ask what designer made them. There are wealth of styles for the beanies and something for everyone and these will make fabulous gifts for the holidays! I am partial to the Curly-Q-Beret, Colorwork, and Swirl patterns. You will not be disappointed with this investment, you will use this book over and over again!
I love this book. The patterns are fun and easily understood. As a beginning/intermediate knitter I'm excited to try these projects. I particularly like Fiddlehead Fern Beanie! Great pattern book for any level.
