Insider Book Club Membership Terms & Conditions
Well, here it is. The official “TERMS AND CONDITIONS” of becoming a member of our book club. Knowing all the details up front is a good thing. So grab your favorite beverage—you’ll need to stay hydrated—and read on.
We promise to
- Give you 35% off retail prices on all of your orders for a full year. (If a product has already been discounted more than 35%, you'll receive the greater discount.)
- Give you a $40 gift certificate for free upon joining.
- Renew your annual membership for free when you buy 6 or more items during the year.
- Heap on our helpful customer service, handcrafted just for you.
You promise to
- Join the club at an annual fee of $14.99.
- Provide a current credit/debit card number during your membership (we accept all the biggies: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express). Important PayPal note: Unfortunately, PayPal doesn't work as a saved-payment method for Featured Selection purchases. That's why we ask for a credit or debit card. We apologize for any inconvenience.
- Let us know if you change your email address.
How we'll stay connected
- Read the monthly email announcing our Featured Selection and other new releases.
Do nothing, and the Featured Selection will be shipped to you. You’ll get a 35% discount off the retail price. Or...
Make a change within two weeks by using the Change Request form (you'll need to have purchased your membership to follow the link and see the form). You can substitute any product on ShopMartingale, add to the order, or decline the Featured Selection.
- Buy at least 4 items during the year (always 35% off for members). In your monthly email, we'll include a running tally of items you've purchased so that you can keep track. If you buy at least 6 items during the year, we’ll waive the annual fee. Otherwise, we’ll automatically renew your membership each year at $14.99.
- Cancel anytime after buying 4 items. If you cancel before you purchase 4 items, we’ll charge your card for the $40 gift certificate you received when you joined, and end your membership. (Sorry to have to do it that way. But it really does weed out those few folks who want to take advantage of the club in a not-very-nice way.)
How we make sure you stay happy with your membership
- Contact customer service anytime by email or phone (800-426-3126) with questions, suggestions, or feedback. If you call us when we’re closed, please leave a message. We promise Cornelia will call you back.
- Return any item that doesn’t meet your satisfaction within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price. (Sorry, but free items are not eligible for return or exchange.)
We want you to be delighted with your Insider Book Club membership, and we’re always thinking about ways to make it even better. If we ever make changes to club policies, we’ll send a special email to let you know.
