Sue Hunt

Sue Hunt grew up in the small town of Waxahachie, Texas. After college, she moved to Houston, which turned out to be a great place to learn to quilt. Sue's mother got her started on this new passion one summer vacation, and the availability of so many quilting shops in Houston kept her going.

Sue and her husband relocated to Everett, Washington, where she joined a local quilt guild. She was constantly inspired by the many talented women in the Seattle area.

Since 2001, Sue has (mostly) enjoyed the challenges of living in Asia. In Singapore she was member of two different quilt groups and in Japan was a member of Tokyo Friendship Quilters. Members of the groups were women from all over the world, so there were great opportunities to learn other cultures and how quilting is done in different ways. Sue also taught "American-style" quilting while living in Yokohama. Her students were fellow ex-pats and Japanese women. She learned as much from them as they did from her.

Sue and her husband have two daughters, Alyssa and Amanda, who are in college and high school.
