Review from Popular Patchwork magazine

There are seven very different designs in this book, some of which are more obviously geometric than others. I love the cover project, Diamond Dust, a really effective large quilt made by fussy cutting strip sets. This is a very clever design--the construction is far simpler than it looks. There are a couple of other stunning optical illusion type designs plus four more traditional style projects, but all have an unusual or surprising element. Cathy's Pineapple Nine Patch and The Last Word are both very striking and the blocks used are not what you'd expect on first glance. Despite generating complex looking quilts, the patterns are not difficult. Cathy has a very interesting approach to quilt design; I'm certainly impressed and will definitely be trying out some of her methods.
From Midwest Book Review: The Needlecraft Shelf
Cathy Wierzbicki's Geometric Gems: Quilts from Diamonds, Circles, and Squares offers a fascinating, different perspective on producing new quilt designs using angles. The complex-looking results are actually pleasing to the eye and easier to produce than one would think, pairing large-sized color photos of completed quilts with step-by-step instructions any quilter will enjoy.
