Featuring a dozen warm and cozy designs, County Seat Quilts is the culmination of a year-long quilt club at coauthor Julie Hendricksen's Wisconsin quilt shop, J.J. Stitches. Now you, too, can be part of the club, with a year's worth of achievable lap-quilt patterns. So start stitching, then get decorating--the quilts work equally well on a table, draped on your favorite chair or sofa, or as decorative wall art. Give traditional blocks such as Nine Patches and Ohio Stars a new twist by changing your color placement of lights and darks, adding an easy pieced border, or omitting a border completely. All of the patterns are easy to stitch; many are made with strips and squares. The most difficult thing about them may be deciding which one to make first!

Julie Hendricksen purchased her first antique quilt in 1984 and made her first quilt shortly thereafter. She has seen things change considerably in the quilting world since then. What has stayed the same, however, is her love for both vintage and reproduction scrap quilts. As an author for Martingale, a fabric designer for Windham Fabrics, and the owner of J.J. Stitches quilt shop, Julie enjoys working in an industry that continues to inspire her every day.Visit Julie's website

Vickie discovered quilting more than 30 years ago and became permanently hooked. Scrap quilts as well as designs from the Civil War era are her favorites. She enjoys collecting old quilts and antiques. It's not uncommon to see her grandkids curled up on the floor with quilts. Vickie's quilts are made to be loved and used. She is inspired by the world around her, including sunsets and sunrises on the farm and the joy of seeing her grandkids growing.
