I have made four of the patterns so far - each is beautiful and easy to follow. I have never bought a book where I liked so many of the designs. I love this book!
Many cute patterns in this book. I haven’t made any yet but several are on my list. Most of the designs could be made with non-holiday theme/color fabric so they could be used throughout the year.
I just received countdown to Christmas, and tried to make two tree blocks for the tree farming quilt.
Both of the blocks turned out less than the 4 1/8” wide and ended less than the stated 10 1/2” long and I am sewing with a scant 1/4” seam.
Are there any mistakes in the cutting directions?

Hi Karen, we just reviewed the pattern and there are no mistakes to our knowledge. If you'd like to call us at 1-800-426-3126, we'd be happy to help! --Martingale customer service
I loved the patterns and the colors in this book in that it was not specifically made with "Christmas " fabric..However, I made the 'HoHoHo quilt' on page 40 and found that I had over a yard of each fabric left over (even with mistake/recuts). For some of us that quilt on a budget, this is the equivalent to the cost of the book or $25. I appreciate having plenty and not running short but felt this was excessive

Hi Mary, we performed a second math check on the fabric requirements for the Ho Ho Ho quilt and found little waste - is it possible that you were using fabric that was wider than 42"? When we figure yardage we do include a 10% allowance for shrinking/crooked fabric/straightening cuts. If you have further questions, please give us a call at 1-800-426-3126. --Martingale Customer Service

Susan Ache

Knowing only that she wanted to feature embroidery and Nine Patch blocks, Susan Ache taught herself to make her first quilt. Quiltmaking opened up a new world to this mom of five now-grown children. She turned many hours of reading about quiltmaking into a lifelong passion for creating beautiful quilts.

Susan finds color inspiration in her native Florida surroundings. She's always searching for new and fun ways to show off as many colors as she can in a quilt. Most of her quilts are a creative impulse inspired by a trip to the garden center, a photograph in a magazine, or a few paint-color samples. She never sees just the quilt--she sees the room where the quilt belongs.

Working in a quilt store for years helped cultivate Susan's love of color and fabric. Find Susan on Pinterest and Instagram as @yrdgrl60.
