Cindy Blackberg
Cindy began quilting in 1976, during America's bicentennial. Her first quilts were for her two small sons and other family members. When her quilts caught the eye of a local quilt-shop owner, she began her teaching career. In 1992 Cindy won the International Quilt Festival's Jewel Pearce Patterson award for teaching excellence. From then until her retirement in 2014, Cindy taught handwork, her specialty, across the United States. She continues to make scrappy traditional quilts, mostly by hand, using reproduction fabrics.
