Submit a Book Proposal
If you’re visiting this page, it’s for a very special reason—you’re thinking about writing a book. First, congratulations on taking the first step! And second, thank you for considering us as a potential publisher. We value the opportunity to consider your ideas.
Our decisions are based on the review of carefully completed proposals. You might be wondering, what do I need to do to make my proposal stand out? Below are a few tips for doing just that. Please keep the following guidelines in mind when preparing your proposal.
- Browse our books to determine if your ideas fit into our scope of subjects. We are actively seeking proposals for books on quilting, sewing, knitting, and crochet.
- Explain your sales hook. Let us know what will make your book stand out in a stack of books on a similar subject.
- Share your experience. Explain why potential readers will want to hear what you have to say.
- Send your best samples. Make sure your samples convey your finest work and ideas.
Proposals are seriously considered when they are thoughtful, accurate, detailed, and complete.
Our proposal committee meets monthly to review proposals. After mailing your proposal, please allow at least 90 days for us to contact you. Thank you again for your interest in publishing with Martingale!
