Natalie Barnes
Natalie is the owner and designer for beyond the reef, a pattern-design company. As a little girl, Natalie learned to sew, knit, and crochet from her grandmother. Later she began quilting with $.99 fabrics from Woolworth's. After a successful career in the demanding commercial-interior-design field in Los Angeles, Natalie decided it was time to step out in faith, live her dream, and put her talents to work in another area. She has never looked back. Having always lived on the beach, she draws her inspiration for color and design from the sea, the sky, and the land. These days you'll find Natalie in the studio in sunny Southern California, or out and about with Buddy-Dog.

Angela Walters
Angela Walters is a long-arm quilter, teacher, and author. Her quilting career began at the side of her husband's grandfather, and together they made her first quilt, a nine-patch design that is still on her bed today. Thousands of swirls, feathers, and parallel lines later, she has turned her love of stitches and fabric into a thriving business focused on modern machine quilting. Angela also designs fabrics. She lives on the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband, three children, and many, many quilts.
