If you like to create in wool, or felt as we used to call it, this is a good book for ideas to do just that with 16 different projects. These projects range from scissor holders to wall hangings and different size projects in between.

The projects begin with a paragraph about the item, a color photo and the size of the item. Materials and cutting lists are easy to read and graphics help make sure you are on the right path. An embroidery key is provided as are any templates that are needed.

There is a chapter on Wool Applique Essentials and a photo of the items. There is also a photo of the embroidery stitches. Both will help you be sure you have the tools you need and are using the correct stitches.

Grab a copy and your wool and start making those small Christmas gifts.
There are over 14 wool projects in this book that are simple, pretty, and fast to stitch. I enjoy the primitive look of many wool artwork, but I just love how Roseann puts a bright, colorful spin on her American Folk Art projects!

The end of the book has a section called "Wool-Applique' Essentials" where Roseann provides tips, how-tos, and resources so we can speed through preparation and get to sewing those beauties she created. She also gives us ideas on how to further customize and display our work. Cool!

Roseann's choices of colors and textures are amazing. Her work reminds us that we do not have to be master embroiderers to make gorgeous woolly things. I like it!

Sometimes, that is all we have time for - a little handmade gift to express our love to family and friends (and which does not require us to spend hours learning a new skill). So this book is a winner!
