Distinguished Japanese quilt artist, teacher, and author Yoko Saito is known for her beautiful quilt designs. In fact, she is a master at many different handwork crafts. In this book, Ms. Saito has created embroidery patterns for 120 original designs. She often combines embroideries with both applique and quilting to create what she calls "patchwork embroidery." In addition to 120 embroidery designs, she includes 20 patchwork-embroidery projects that include bags, wall hangings, keepsake boxes, and more.

Celebrated Japanese quilt artist Yoko Saito is well-known for her detailed work and unique use of taupe color palettes. She learned to quilt after seeing antique quilts in America and has been inspired over the years to create her own style and designs. A prolific author of quilt books, she also designs fabric and her patterns are often seen in Japanese quilt and crafting magazines. In addition, she appears in various media, and has had her own television series called Fashion Workshop, broadcast by NHK TV. She serves as an instructor at the NHK Culture Center, Nihon Vogue Gakuen, and is a member of the Japan Needlework Exhibit. She currently owns and runs a quilt shop and school called Quilt Party in Chiba Prefecture, just outside of Tokyo.
